Check ‘Open a Vintage Store’ off the Bucket List

Hello, everyone! After a long break from posting, I think now is finally the right time to come clean. My absence from the blogosphere these past few months mainly had to do with preparation for a new store that my daughter is opening on May 3rd. Marinus Home ~ Purveyor of Vintage Goods will be the epitome of industrial French coastal chic that I have tried to channel through posts on this blog. Not only will the store be carrying furniture and home decor accessories of a vintage persuasion, but it will also feature artisan crafted goods. In fact, if an item in the store is not vintage, it has been ‘upcycled’ by a crafter in Washington state. Don’t mistake Marinus Home for another craft or antique shop though. I strongly believe that this store, Marinus Home, will be the breath of fresh air that Poulsbo (Kitsap Country) needs. If you are in the area, be sure to check it out! The Grand Opening is set for May 3rd, and there will be items for sale that you have never seen before…

Sailing into Spring

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last post. I wish I had more time to write but I have been unbelievably busy lately, both with business and personal matters. Sewing and material hunting takes up most of my days. I sell in a few stores now, so I have to keep those retailers constantly stocked with my latest designs. And even though my Christmas craft shows are months away, I never stop preparing for them. Christmas stockings all year round… merry xmas to me haha.

The shift to spring weather has been a welcome change. Finally some sunshine! More Vitamin D in the PNW never hurts if you know what I mean.

In regards to business, I do have something very big in the works but can’t reveal anything until later this season. Stay tuned! For now, I will leave you with my latest treasure for spring – the Cool Bloo Anchor pillow. Remember, there is more to come from Stockings, Etc. very very soon…

March of the Teddies

I always start off my year by sewing hundreds of smaller ornaments before working on my actual Christmas stockings. My goal is to have a greater variety of ornament designs in my inventory. Today, I am unveiling the primitive style teddy bear ornament. They come in an array of colors and designs, and no two are alike! They are also filled with lavender potpourri for your smelling pleasure. The green ones would even look great in your home for St. Patrick’s Day.
